Ann Stewart and The Banjo Buddies Dixieland Show Band

ANN STEWART AND THE BANJO BUDDIES DIXIELAND SHOW BAND, based in the Chicagoland area, is one of the most unique and exciting musical attractions around today.  Don’t let their name fool you.  This is not a “banjo band” as their name might imply.  This is a high-energy Dixieland show band.

Often called the Diva of Dixieland, leader Ann Stewart is featured on jazz banjo and is known for her sultry vocal style.  Her energy and enthusiasm fuels the exclusive arrangements performed by the group which includes the dynamic and powerful horns of Tim Stewart on trombone and Al Ramsey on trumpet, and the driving rhythm section of the talented and versatile Verne Rind on drums and vocals and Mike Zudis on bass.

This group has been performing throughout the country with their unique style of Dixieland entertainment for over two decades. They are unique because they approach this style of music with a contemporary feel that appeals to all ages.  Their style is quite eclectic playing everything from exciting Dixieland jazz to swing, blues, big band tunes, novelty tunes and much more from the 20’s through the 40’s and touching the 50’s presented in an entertaining fashion with vocals.

Due to the versatility and popularity of this group, they are in demand playing over 250 single engagements each year from Performing Art Centers to major nightspots and resorts, national and international festivals, trade shows, theme parks, cruise ships and countless private functions.  They have been featured at over 25 Dixieland jazz festivals across the country including performances in Victoria, BC and a Dixieland jazz cruise to the Panama Canal.  Over the years they have performed with many stars including Kay Starr, The Ink Spots, Buddy Rich, Bill Cosby, the Lettermen, Hank Williams, Jr. and more.  The Illinois Festival Association named them “entertainers of the year” and they have recorded eight albums.
